Calming in the Storm

I believe that mindfulness meditation is an important tool for everyday life. It comes in many different forms and the best part about it is that you are always in control of this practice. Whether you are on a spiritual journey, in need of a pause, taking a moment to reflect, calming your nervous system, or simply focusing your thoughts on the present; you can access it anytime and anywhere without props and it can be as long, or as brief as you need it to be.

This practice has helped me sit with my own discomfort, anxiety and fear. I use my breath as a tool to calm myself down and observe my emotions in the present moment, and purely connecting to what is happening to me and around me; accepting these moments exactly as they are. This practice has served me well and I hope that my meditation session will help others get to their own safe space to pause, reflect and be with one – with yourself.

I created this video last year during the rise of the pandemic. Inspired by this quote by Timber Hawkeye, “You can’t calm the storm, so stop trying. What you can do is calm yourself. The storm will pass.” Look inward to find your inner peace and strength to ride this storm.
